DaaS, sounds like a foreign word doesn't it. If someone were to say that to you, you wouldn't have the slightest idea that it was an abbreviation let alone what it stands for and actually does, it means Desktop as a Service - DaaS.
For those of you whom know nothing about this at all, allow me to fill in the blanks as chances are the abbreviation, and stating what the abbreviation means, has probably done nothing to ease your confusion on this.
At first glance this service may not seem that impressive, but it is! In today's world a system like this is necessary for businesses or companies, especially if they wish to work remotely between colleagues or from various locations.
This service can be accessed anywhere in the world as long as you have an internet connection. This generally seems to be something companies have as it allows employees to stay connected, wherever they are in the world. It is brilliant.
So many of us would like to work from home or perhaps even when holiday however it's just not feasible at times, but, if you can take your laptop or access a computer with the internet and log straight into your work desktop you have greater freedom to take work with you wherever you go.
For those of you out there with minimal I.T. experience this probably seems amazing, but for those who have some knowledge this probably doesn't marvel its sheer brilliance... Or perhaps it does.
You often see people walking with huge bags, or trying not to drop books or paper, this no longer need be the case. If you can access this information easily then you can make your life just that little bit easier.
This may not seem great to you, perhaps you do not even have a PC or laptop, rest assured this does not mean that you cannot enjoy this great invention. You do not need your own computer to access this, merely an internet connection, and in today's world you can find an internet connection practically everywhere you look.
Employees will clearly gain from this, but so will employers, knowing that regardless of their employees' whereabouts they are able to access their work can take a huge worry off of their mind.
If you are an employer interested in this product, chances are you may not understand this product entirely, so the technical details have not been touched upon, but more the reasons why Desktop as a Service - DaaS can be great for your company.
